TSW and Racing

TSW has been involved in motor racing around the globe for over 40 years. Such involvement has ranged from the 24hours of Le Mans to Touring Cars to Formula One. The company was started in 1967 using prize money earned on the track. Our slogan “born on the track” can actually be taken literally. Much of what we learned in racing has been incorporated into our wheels. In keeping with this racing heritage many TSW Alloy wheels are named after past and present Formula One tracks.

Over the years we have supplied wheels for German DTM cars through our one time subsidiary ATS wheels. ATS also had its own Formula One team. TSW has sponsored Porsche cars in the 24 hours of Le Mans. We have supplied saloon cars in South Africa with wheels and sponsored single seater race cars. Recently the company established a relationship with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and became the official wheel of the Indy 500. The TSW Vortex is used on emergency vehicles for the Indy Car races around the USA. Our Rotary Forged wheels are used in the World Challenge racing series.

Although racing has very different demands on our products than street use, it has given us the opportunity to learn and to improve the product that you would use on your street car.
